Founder
Mike Durina founded MD Plastics Inc. in 1999 after a distinguished 16-year career at Spirex, where as VP of Sales & Service he grew the company from $1.8 million and 18 employees to $22 million and 180 employees. His deep understanding of the critical role plasticating units play in injection molding drove him to establish a company focused exclusively on advancing these technologies. Mike holds an AAS in Plastic Engineering from Ferris State University and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Kent State University. Since 1978, he has dedicated his career to the plastics industry, and his innovations have earned him eight patents with one pending. Under his leadership, MD Plastics has become a trusted partner for injection molders worldwide, serving major manufacturers including Foxconn, Boston Scientific, TE Connectivity, and Aptiv. Mike's commitment to 'Inventing Better' drives the company's mission to help injection molders achieve greater profitability through superior plasticating components and breakthrough technologies.
