Founder
Mike Durina brings over four decades of plastics engineering expertise to medical device manufacturing. With an AAS in Plastic Engineering from Ferris State University and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Kent State University, Mike has dedicated his career to advancing injection molding technology. His 16-year tenure at Spirex, where he grew sales from $1.8 million to $22 million as VP of Sales & Service, provided deep insights into the critical importance of plasticating quality in medical applications. Since founding MD Plastics Inc in 1999, Mike has been awarded eight patents focused on precision molding technologies essential for medical device manufacturing. His innovations, including the revolutionary Inject-EX™ system and Melt-Profiler™ temperature monitoring, have set new standards for quality control in medical injection molding, helping manufacturers achieve the stringent requirements necessary for FDA compliance and patient safety.
What is medical injection molding?
